Passed

Well this was certainly the week for PASSING. I passed my qual and Ava passed her driver's test. My little sister has a license, yay/ahhh!!!

Squier Retreat

was incredible. More details when I feel like writing, but basically I had an awesome time and got to hang out with tons of people who I never really see outside of class and the Reed bubble- and it was great!

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Why am I so consistently amused by everything on someecards? Really, I feel like they dove into my brain and put all of my sarcastic, snarky and bitchy (and sometimes true) thoughts onto cards.

Ozomatli

was INFINITELY better than the Decemberists. Dancing right in front of the stage and with the band members (!) was awesome, as was doing something other than homework on a Thursday night. I did feel a little out of place along all the partiers, but still had an amazing time. Now I need to go download some Ozomatli.

But first, some things that just popped into my mind.
-Yay for Amrita and friends that are not drama. Boo to passive aggressive mean friends who make you feel like they took you and wiped their ass with your feelings.
-Can't wait for the Squier Retreat this weekend. I really don't know what to expect but I'm sure it will be fun. I emailed everyone who's going saying they should bring exercise clothes if they want to run and do yoga with me and got two responses, both from professors. That will be a fun sight- me running alongside my profs. Hehe. Good thing I like them all so much.
-Tomorrow: Lab, RDDA exam, work in the neuroscience lab, go to OMSI for my behavioral observation group project, aka watching kids play and calling it work. Then finally taking a break from this hellish week. Would someone like to cook with me tomorrow night? Or go out? This is probably not the best place to ask but if you read this in time, call me!

Reverse Strip Poker?

Sometimes I think Reedies just need to keep their pants on.

I've decided to make a concerted effort to branch out and make some new friends. I don't know when I am going to make time for this to happen, but it definitely needs to happen.

Also, thanks to KC Deane for making me to agree to it, I'm going to run a
5k race.


Just got back from Costco. I won't have to buy toilet paper for the rest of the semester, whooo!!!!!!

Happy VD Day!

Got a box of delicious oatmeal cookies from my mom- they're already gone (I didn't eat them all myself!).

Also got my bank statement...and realized bow badly I need to stop spending money and start making much much more.

More importantly, though, our half-birthday party is tomorrow!

For no reason, whatsoever

I decided not to go to my PE class. Literally, I have no excuse. I am constantly justifying everything I do, giving a reason for every action, but not today. No contemplative meditation for me. Today I am not going just because I am not going. Strange thought.

Soooo upset about a certain person in relation to a certain event. Trying to make the best of it though. I can still have fun anyway, even if a dt5mil is trying to get in the way of a half-birthday. Really though, when have we ever put dt5mil or any other lame Reedevent above bestfriends4life? Never. Not me, at least.

Let's just get drunk.

I'm giving up religion.

Hallelujah, I see the light! Finally, after at least four months of pitch blackness outside my front door, the lights have been replaced. What a wonderful feeling it was to come home tonight and not have to stare at my keys for ten minutes to figure out which is the right one and figure out how to put it in and struggle endlessly because I can't see a thing. Wonderful, I tell you.

Also, I've been inspired by a woman I babysit for to begin thinking of time in terms of babies born. We were talking about how horrible insurance is and how it took them FOREVER to get her car fixed and she something to the effect of

"For Christ's sake, three thousand babies were born in that time!"

and I thought it was absolutely hilarious. And so I am officially stealing her cleverness. But I want to actually work out the math because I'm sure her number wasn't actually meant to be right and how cool would it be to really know how many babies are born in whatever amount of time?

So roughly 5 babies are born per second. 2 people also die, but I'm not counting that- let's not get all depressed here.

86,400 seconds in a day so that is 432,000 babies born in a day
604, 800 seconds in a week so that is 3,024,000 babies born in a week
2,629,743.83 seconds in a month so that is 13,148,719 babies born in a month
